Fine strands with low porosity need lightweight products that can actually absorb into the hair rather than sit on top of it. When a dandruff or dry, itchy scalp is also part of the picture, washing needs to happen on the right schedule, and any buildup from styling products or heavy oils needs to be cleared properly, without stripping the hair or weighing it down. This is what the Fine Hair Dandruff Scalp Combo is built for. It suits a client with fine strands, low porosity hair, and a dry, itchy, or flaky scalp.
The Routine
Wash day starts with the Detangling Conditioner, used to detangle the hair before cleansing.
For a dandruff or dry, itchy scalp, hair should be washed once every two weeks. Ruutos does not recommend using gels, but for clients who do, or for anyone going longer than two weeks between washes while using heavy oils and butters, follow with the Curlyberry Hair Bath Shampoo first, as a clarifying wash to remove that buildup before continuing.
Cleanse with the ‘Ruff Control Revitalizing Shampoo. This formula contains zinc pyrithione and tea tree oil, which help calm a dry, itchy, or flaky scalp while cleansing. Once rinsed, apply the Reconstruct Conditioner from tips to roots and sit under a steamer for fifteen minutes.
Moisturize with the Curlyberry Leave-In Conditioner, followed by the Hair Butter cocktailed with the ‘Ruff Elixir. The ‘Ruff Elixir contains climbazole, which continues supporting scalp balance between washes.
On a daily basis, rehydrate the hair with the Curl Refresher. Around the edges, apply the Curl Refresher first, followed by the butter and ‘Ruff Elixir cocktail to support the scalp and growth in that area.
