Today I visited Ruutos treatment bar in Menlyn after I won a free treatment experience. I fell for their brand, I am hook, line and sinker. I was amazed by their treatment regimen, that makes you feel like you are in a Dubai type of spa. I don’t think there’s any going back for me. The experience is out of this world. The seven steps of the RUUTOS Treatment Bar Experience.
We Examine Your Scalp
We check whether your scalp is normal or prone to dandruff before choosing your treatment products.
We Detangle
We gently detangle your hair, working through one section at a time.
We Clarify and Cleanse
We clarify first to lift buildup. A normal scalp receives a scalp cleanse. A dandruff-prone scalp is soaked in Panax Ginseng serum with Ruff Control shampoo.
We Feed the Hair
We use our Moisture Mask for thick hair and the Reconstructor for fine hair. If your hair is fine and dry, we may use a blend of both.
We Steam for Fifteen Minutes
Once we apply the mask, you sit under the steamer for 15 minutes.
We Moisturize in Layers
We apply Leave-In Conditioner, followed by Hair Elixir and Hair Butter to help seal in moisture.
We Stretch and Style
We stretch your hair with our nylon paddle brush, then style it. Styling costs extra, usually R290 to R550.

How do I know which products I will get
Your scalp and hair are assessed in person during your visit, and your combo is matched to what your hair actually needs. We do not guess this online, so there is one flat price, and the right products are decided in the chair.
Do I get to keep the products
Yes. The full regimen set used on your hair during the treatment is yours to take home, so you can keep up the same routine until your next visit.
Is the treatment really included
Yes. When you invest in the full regimen, the in-salon treatment shown above, scalp check, detangling, clarify and cleanse, steam, and the full moisture ritual, is complimentary, included in the R1,600.
Does R1,600 include styling, like cornrows or twists
No. Styling is quoted separately based on hair length, typically R290 to R550, and is confirmed with you in salon before any work begins.
